Playground dedication. Fallen Hero, Mark Graham

Playground dedication. Fallen Hero, Mark Graham
Mark Graham was an outstanding athlete and hero of war. Mark participated in the 1992 Olympics in the track and field 4x400 relay. He also won silver medals at the 1993 and 1994 Canadian track and field championships. Regrettably, he was killed by friendly fire on September 3, 2006 while serving his country in Afghanistan. Mark’s bravery and many accomplishments are in inspiration to us all which is why we chose to dedicate our playground to him. Mark grew up in Hamilton and went to Sir Allan MacNab High School. Our sympathy and condolences go out to Mark Graham’s family.

Date change

We have had some difficulties with securing the land where we are building the playground. We are unable to build in the original location that we were hoping to because of sewage and underground wiring. We have now relocated to a new, very wonderful spot. We will need to cut down one tree in order to build on that site. Because of this change in location, we have moved the build day two weeks back, to June 20th. With the extra two weeks, we have seen some real potential for doing some other amazing projects in addition to the playground.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to make it out on the 20th and apologize for any inconvenience.
